vision,mission and objectives

 

 

 

Vision:

The quality of its graduates and the researches carried out in order to meet the requiremeThe department should be ranked among the top civil engineering departments in the world throughnts of the renewable society coupled with the rapid technological developments.

 

 

Mission:

Preparation of practical engineers in the precise disciplines of civil engineering and qualified scientists and researchers with a high level of knowledge and technological innovation and in line with the internationally approved standards in quality assurance and academic accreditation of engineering programs corresponding with the commitment to the ethics of the engineering profession.

 

  • GOALS

  • After graduation, our students are expected to have the ability to:

    • Apply of fundamentals of mathematics and science and engineering principles in understanding and solving of engineering problems.
    • Work efficiently in one or more basic areas of civil engineering.
    • Work effectively and adhere to the ethics of the profession in the worksite.
    • Develop their skills and gain new to enhance their practical experience.

 

 

The Department foundation

 

The department was established at 1960 in parallel with the foundation of the higher industrial institute. The duration of study at the department was ( 5 ) years. The first students graduated from the department in 1965.

The duration of study at the department now is ( 4 ) years. The department is considered one of the founding departments of the University Of Technology and one of the largest departments in the university regarding its faculty members, students, laboratories, and class rooms.  The department consists of five engineering branches .

The faculty members in the department during 2010-2011 are :

25 Assistant Professors

59 Lecturers

81 Assistant Lecturers

120 Staff Members ( engineers, technicians, and administrative staff)

 

There are ( 666 ) students in undergraduate studies, and ( 105 ) students in postgraduate studies.
