Firas is assistant lecturer of Engineering Project Management in the Civil Engineering Department/ University of Technology ,Iraq. He is also a member of Iraqi Union of Engineers. Firas has great experience in construction management and the interaction between technical matters, risk management, financing and contractual arrangements.
This expertise has been gained through: an involvement in delivery four projects for the public client (University of Technology in Baghdad) and work as resident engineer in a six story building for engineering college. Firas’s core research expertise is Building Information Modelling (BIM) and its application to construction industry. His research areas include BIM with risk and reliability analysis of engineering works and also integrating BIM with safety management.
